Last week while out for one of my walks I noticed a kid riding around on a bike designed like a chopper. It was a pedal bike, but the front wheel was out quite far from the front of the bike.

It was the first time that I had seen a pedal bike with a design like that. As it turns out, I’ve found a company that sells bikes of this and many other designs. I wonder if this kid had one XYZ Bike’s beach cruisers?

From what I’ve read on their site and beach cruiser blog, these bikes are comparatively inexpensive and are designed for a leisurely, relaxing ride. Not the hard off road mountain biking that people can spend quite an expensive penny on.

You know, it’s a good idea, and from what I see in their catalog I can easily picture one of these riding along close to a beach or an infrequently used scenic road. I like it, and probably wouldn’t mind one myself if I lived in an area for it.

I’d go for the black one myself. I’m not too hot on yellow.
