There’s something that I would like to point out. It’s obvious, but I want to point it out anyway: Consumers are hypocrits. Total, shameless hypocrits.
What’s rubbing my nerves is all of this BS hype about the iPhone. Let’s get something clear from the beginning: it’s a cell phone, nothing more, and it costs $600!! Despite this absurd price everyone’s gushing about the iPhone and waiting in line for it; in many cases they’re camping over night to spend $600 on nothing more than a cell phone!
What is really amazing about these people is that they – some of them being ‘public figures’ such as Kevin Rose – will complain about the cost of the PS3. They call Sony “nuts” or “insane” for pricing the PS3 “so high”… but here’s a news flash for you, the PS3 is $600.
Yep, the SAME price tag that’s on the iPhone.
Let’s put a little something into perspective, shall we?
PS3 plays Blu-Ray HD movies, it plays beautiful looking games, and it has a decent multimedia focus that can turn a room into an entertainment center for the whole family to enjoy.
The iPhone is a cell phone. That’s it, that’s all. It has big pretty buttons, it can make phone calls and it does what cell phones do. It requires a contract with a specific company. It’s useful to one person, or maybe a second every now and then if you let a family member use it for the occasional call.
Oh, but the iPhone is oh-so-worth the $600 because it has the word “Apple” on it, but the PS3 with all that it can bring the whole family isn’t worth the exact same price.
Peh, bulls@#%. You’re all lemmings.
In closing let me also say that I loathe Sony. I cheer every bit of news that shows the company floundering or (yet again) making an idiot of themselves.
I’d sooner buy a PS3 than an iPhone. At least the PS3 would come closer to justifying that $600 price tag.
