Well, this is just wonderful isn’t it? I just found out the hard way that the Firefox browser stores all of its bookmarks inside of its fricking cache. Not only are the bookmarks stored in the cache, but apparently so are the settings for all of extensions. Lastly, the skin/theme also appears to be stored in the browser’s cache.
Bright idea there, folks!
Of course I discovered this by manually clearing the browser’s cache. Now I have no bookmarks – which is a huge pain in the arse all on its own – and each of my browser’s extensions are suddenly fubar.
I had so, so many bookmarks. Wonderful bookmark groups that saved tons of time, nicely categorized individual bookmarks, important “check again soon” BMs saved..
Well, that’s just grand.
Huh. You know, now is a good time to start using Flock. I need NoScript and such, but seeing as everything has been securely shredded and is about as fricking borked as it can get…
Oh FFS, the browser’s options are apparently stored in the cache as well. This just keeps on getting better!
Yay. Just so many levels of yay
