EDIT: This process is done and was completed with a few simple clicks. Sweet. The feedburner feed will be updated to the new domain in a day or two, but it doesn’t matter because the sub-domain links will continue pointing to the correct articles here.

Alright! In a few minutes (right after posting this) I am going to attempt to swap this blog to its own domain name, www.stephsblog.info. Mind you, this is the first time that I’ve done this so we won’t be surprised if things don’t go entirely smoothly, right?

If all goes well, then this blog should not lose any content at all. I am told by my host that the sub-domain should continue to work and that none of the existing data should be deleted.

The Feedburner feed will be updated to reflect the new domain name. You should not need to resubscribe to the feed. You may see every post in the list of feeds be flagged as a “new” post, but beyond that (::fingers crossed::) nothing else should go awry.

Oh, one last thing. Domain names need to propagate across the Internet. It may take up to 48 hours for this blog to respond to its new domain. In the interim the sub-domain should continue to work.

So, onward to StephsBlog.info!
