So here I sit, enjoying the Core 2 Duo processor that’s inside of my computer but finding nothing to exploit its strength. All of this “oomph” under the hood and it’s just sitting there, waiting, like the bored little beast that it is.

Well, at least this time I went into the situation knowing what would happen. I actually sat looking at the order page as I asked myself what I would use it for and I could come up with no immediate answer. On the other hand, I can now watch two video files at the same time with no slow down, should my attention span prove to be so slippery. ;-)

Yeah, I done that earlier.

What does this all boil down to? There are no games on the market that I feel are worth money, but should something appear on the scene in the future then I should definitely be able to run it. In fact, the Quad-core Intel QX6700 is an LGA775 socket processor. This makes me wonder if I could install that beauty into my motherboard, though that may require a BIOS upgrade.

So if I do encounter a situation where this dual core doesn’t have enough “oomph” for the task then I may very well be able to pop a new quad core engine in under the hood. Rar.

Yet none of this stops me from being bored. I’ve even ran benchmark software for amusement. Why must every development company be putting out the same’ol dry crap that we’ve all seen and done before? Le sigh.

Oh, well. At least I have high def video files to tinker with like this kick-ass Assassin’s Creed HD trailer for the XBox 360.

Heh, heh, suck on that a little, Sony.

Your rambling bored person,
~Steph
