Update: Still a few too many technical problems, but I was impressed with how smoothly Ubuntu runs these days. It’s not that far from being a viable desktop alternative. I certainly miss the incredible customization available on the desktop, that’s for sure… but that’s what I miss the most about it.
Oh, well. I do still hope to get a mac laptop as mentioned below.
It’s time for bed but here’s a quick update.
I’ve switched to Linux. My passwords are insane passwords (created using PGP or similar tools) that humans could not possibly memorize (unless you’re a savant). These passwords are stored in Roboform on my U3 USB stick. Guess what doesn’t run on Linux? The U3 software, of course.
Thus, I have been unable to log in to the majority of my accounts for a good number of days now.
Tonight I’ve got Virtual Box running and Windows installed onto a small 80 GB virtual hard drive. It shall suit my needs until I can afford the (dare I say arrogantly) high price tag of a Mac notebook.
Good night world.

Well I love my MAC it’s an iBook G4 that runs on OS-X Leopard. It’s great, and has lots of neat features that OS-X itself didn’t have.
I enjoyed the hackintosh while I had it. The only problem that it had is that the Internet connection would permanently drop at random. Sometimes it would dead when I booted, sometimes it would drop a few minutes later, and still other times it would go for an hour or so.
Quite strange.
It served its purpose in a way though. Apple demands an unrealistic price for their hardware from the perspective of a long time PC user, and the hackintosh allowed me to use the Mac OS without blindly putting down the cash for one.
I also learned that I’m not really going to miss the PC when I make the switch, and I’m definitely not going to miss Vista.
So in other words, you could say that I’m sold on a Mac.
