It’s 4:22.. well, let’s say 4:23 AM and I suppose that it goes without saying that I’m awake, eh?

This night’s dream was pretty farked up. It was about the murder of a woman in her young 20’s. Caucasian, longish curly dark hair.. an attractive enough gal.

The one who killed her was her boyfriend. Apparently he was into some seriously illegal stuff and she knew… and they had an argument? I can’t quite remember what triggered the murder, exactly.

When the dream first began this was just another murder on the over-hyped evening “news”. I wasn’t much affected by it, but I was playing some anonymous MMO and some of my guildies were deeply affected by it.

Yeah, well, it goes without saying that this is one strange dream… so if you think that this is weird.. heh, read on.

At some point my dream decided to shift the setting; suddenly the location of the murder was my house. It happened in a bedroom (with a bunk bed), and I remember discovering her body and I remember her friend being informed about the situation and rushing in completely distraught.

The police came to investigate, of course, and as if all of this wasn’t odd enough the dream decided to shift again. At some point during the investigation the location of the murder moved from the bedroom into the kitchen / back of the house area, and the house in the dream turned into the one that I currently live in.

The cops then received some radio dispatch which called them away from “the scene”. We were informed that they would be back “when they had time”. No, they didn’t take the body with them, and they wanted it left alone right where it was so as not to affect their ‘investigation’.

Huh. Yeah. Ookay then.

Three days later she was still there and, as gruesome as this may sound, she was starting to smell a bit. The house was stinking up a little, ya know? So the cops were called and it was demanded that her body be removed, but they refused! Their excuse? All of their officers were going to be flying to some meeting in two or three days. It was a meeting about this “high profile” murder case, and they simply didn’t have the manpower to spare.

They would be gone for… I think it was… about a week. Yeah, they expected her to stay where she was this whole time. Needless to say, I was freaking out about the subject at this point.

This is around the time that I “chose to wake up”. It was a cross road of sorts, and the dream was becoming steadily weirder.

So in the dream I lay there on the couch asleep (it may be interesting to point out that I was, in fact, sleeping on the couch tonight). I was asleep, or at least half asleep, and I was struggling with a decision: Sleep through the night, or wake up and rant about the subject on my blog.

Yes, ::sigh::, seriously. This blog was a part of my dream. :-/

The news was still covering the case, as they so typically obsess over something for about a week. I was getting very angry about the situation and the total incompetence of the police force, and I knew that the only thing that would force them to remove the body from the house would be to publicly humiliate them.

Thus the idea in the dream was to post about it, submit the post to popular sites, and also tell all of my MMO guildies the entire truth about the situation that they had been watching on the news.

So a few things happened at this point:

  • I decided to wake up
  • Other family had wrapped her body in yellow, non-clear plastic and was moving her to a truck to take… somewhere… anywhere else
  • I knew that if I remained asleep the dream was going to go seriously paranormal

There’s absolutely no doubt about that last point there. I could feel the paranormal theme about to kick off in all of its wonderful glory, and why not? It would have fit perfectly with the rest of the dream.

So, my sleeping dream self decided to wake up and post about the situation, and strangely enough (? hah!), this caused me to wake up in real life, as well.

Now here I am, posting about this strange dream on the’ol blog. This makes two days in a row that I woke up at around 4:00 AM. Bleh.
