It started with only a few people talking about it, but over the months, more and more “odd lights” were seen flying through the night skies. They were obviously seperate from stars and were flying within our atmosphere. It became such a common phenomena that the news began to seriously report them.
People were also disappearing. Were the disappearances some how connected to lights in the sky? There was no hard proof connecting the two, but many who disappeared were those who said that they had been seeing the lights.
This dream obviously began as a UFO dream. I remember one “scene” where I was outside and watched one or two of the lights move through the sky and they looked like (or at least very similar to) the foo-fighter that I saw in real life some years ago.
The dream took a very interesting turn, though. In it, I was standing outside in my tree house (?) and I was watching two of the lights “dance around” each other in the sky. I remember that I was scared because of the disappearances, but I was too curious to go hide.
I strained while looking up at them. The lights began to fly in evasive patterns, and they would go out and then flare back up. Finally, they became low enough that I could see into the spheres of light when they flared up; they were dragons! :-O
My dream self gasped in awe that I was actually watching two dragons fight in the sky over head. Their struggle brought them low enough that I could make out their physical forms even without their breath attacks illuminating each other. Finally, one of them scored a fantastic strike, clawing at its opponent with a hind leg while scorching it with a perfectly placed breath attack.
The defeated dragon let out a roar as it fell backward. Its wings curved around its body, and the winning dragon let out its own triumphant roar while circling once, watching its opponent fall, and then flew away.
The defeated dragon fell like a meteor, and smashed into the ground severael hundred feet away. I could tell that it had landed in the alley somewhere in the distance, and I had been watching the fight from that tree house in my back yard.
For a brief moment I wondered if the dragon had been killed. Then I heard it rustling, I heard its growls. There was the sound of wood breaking, then large thumps. It was obvious that the beast had crashed into someone’s garage and had worked its way free of the wreckage. Then I heard its foot steps; it was walking in my direction!
Even worse, my tree house was mostly an open platform. The actual “house” part was very small; more of a hut than anything else.
I could hear its snorts and the stomping of its steps as it walked down the alley toward my location. By the sound of its snorts it seemed to be very annoyed.
I huttled against the hut while daring to peek around the edge of the small structure. Suddenly I realized why people had been disappearing. They weren’t being abducted, they were being eaten by these dragons. Still, I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to see one of the beasts. I pressed against the wall of the hut as much as I could.
Its huge legs covered the distance very quickly and it didn’t take long for the great creature to come within sight. My first view of it was a spotty sighting through the trees that grew next to our garage, but then it passed within clear view right behind the fence.
Its body had a sinuous, lizard-like sway to it as it walked and its scales were a light to dark brown in color. The wings of the dragon were folded over its back and its head moved side to side as it glanced in each direction, watching for any signs of movement. Its movements betrayed how great a hunter and fighter the creature really was.
There was a great menacing presence about the dragon. Its strength, its cunning, and its ferocity were all evident simply through its movements.
I was very lucky; it actually wasn’t too interested in finding people, though I am certain that it would have eaten me had it saw me. I thought to myself, “especially after taking such a beating. Surely it would need the protein to heal..”
It would have been eye-to-eye with me from my vantage point in the tree, and its body was so wide that it was pushing through the foilage at either side of the alley. Its body scraped against the side of the random garage.
I watched as the dragon passed by, ever pressed against the wall of my tree “house”, and then carefully turned and watched it walk down the alley, its tail swishing in small movements like a cat on the prey.
Then the dream ended.
Of course, since the dream began with a strong UFO theme, there was the stereotypical government attempt to cover up the sightings. So though the news stories started with heavy coverage of the sightings and the disappearances they soon dwindled to very few reports on the air.
That was a very cool twist to the dream.
