A month ago I joined PayPerPost, a service that allows you to get paid for blogging. These are unique blog ads that do not require messy advertisements. You simply select an opportunity - which is a product, a service, a website, or what have you - and then write about it.

Well it’s been a month, and it’s time for an update on the service!

So spring break is finally here and I get some time off from classes. I’d love to visit some other places, go somewhere, or do something, but it looks like I’ll be at home. Oh well, at least I don’t have to listen to the alarm clock in the morning. :D

A lot of folks from my classes are traveling. One of my instructors… I think my step aerobics instructor.. was a little jealous about the places that people are going. Some are going to California, others to Florida, still others are traveling to more exotic locations.

I wonder how many are going to take a Flight to brazil? It’s almost a shame that that site’s for folks in the UK. It has a nice clean design, the information is right there where you need it, and it really seems inviting. That aerial photo of Brazil looks beautiful!

::sigh:: Well what can you do? I get my time to be lazy at home right? It’s no Brazil, but at least it’s comfortable. Spring break wins either way. :-)

Wow! Just wow.. I don’t know much about the Star Tribune itself, but if this is real then how terrifying and disgusting is this: A girl’s beloved dog, a grisly nightmare.

I must leave very soon, but I had to comment on this. Sheesh, why can’t the day start with good news?

This girl is in danger, obviously, and I hope that they find the guy who done this.

<sarcasm>Where’s PETA when you need them?</sarcasm>

Have to go now.. um, good day? Heh. :-) Yeesh!

I don’t hide that I’m in college. Heck, I don’t even hide my blog from all of my professors. So it’s little wonder that I have a cell phone.

However, my goal when purchasing a cell phone was very specific. It made no sense for me to commit to a two year contract because I simply wouldn’t use my phone enough to justify it, but I need my phone in case of emergencies or if my ride breaks down. Additionally, and very unfortunately, my father’s health isn’t the greatest and he may need me to assist him with something that he simply can not (or should not!) be doing.

Let’s face it, most of us can use a bit of extra cash, especially when you’re attending college like I am. A few days ago I spent $103 on books, three of which are closer to being “pamphlets” than “books”. It’s outrageous. Is it any wonder that so many students are in debt?

So it’s good to find more opportunities that can bring in cash, even if it’s just some much needed pizza money. After all, that’s one pizza (aka, “dinner”) that I wouldn’t otherwise have!

I have no audio or Internet drivers that will work on Vista 64bit. Therefor I just ordered a cheap wireless adapter and the least expensive X-Fi* that I could find.

So my computer should be back online sometime Thursday.

* X-Fi was chosen because I needed to find something that I am certain is Vista compatible.

It’s time for ‘ol Stephers to eat some crow. Only a ‘lil bit though. It tastes kind of leathery, ya know.

*ahem*

Apparently I have been going about crafting all wrong in EQ2. That -50 strike to health? Well, it is indeed random, but there is something that can be done about it.

The deity storylines in Echoes of Faydwer have added another way to kill the time and avoid grinding. They won’t level you (unless your character is on the cusp), but they’re certainly more entertaining than camping mobs.

My character “Mysk” was the only one of high enough level (20+) to begin the deity quests, so I took him on a trip to Butcher Block Mountains to speak with the deity’s prophet. Instead of going with the old default of Innoruuk I instead decided to take him along the path of fear offered by Cazic-Thule. “Hate” is an unhealthy thing, but Fear is definitely the friend of a necromancer.

I ended up wasting one gold on an altar that is identical to the one that is given to your character at the end of the “dedication” quest. However, it sure makes for some nice decoration. Here are a few screenshots, two with ambiance and one without:

EQ2 has slowed down considerably and in order to solo I need to do the typical grind fest. It’s essentially forcing the player partner up if they want to complete any tasks (or quests, however you wish to call it) after about level 15. It’s a shame, too, because it was going so smoothly there for awhile.

You’re going merrily along at around level 15ish when you smack into the wall and all of your quests suddenly become levels 18 to 20. So you grind out the levels or you try to get yourself a group (or at least a partner).

edit: I’ve hit a dry spell in the game already. Such an unfortunate turn of events. Hopefully I’ll find something more to do (that is not mindlessly camping critters) soon.

Awhile back I gave some thoughts on the EoF expansion but mentioned that I wouldn’t be buying it. That’s largely due to a bias against EverQuest 2; the game is a very boring experience and I do not recommend it to anyone.

Well, that may have changed with Echoes of Faydwer. Having decided to give their EoF expansion another chance I once again find myself fluttering around Kelethin. I’ve made a new character for this and I am much, much happier with her appearance. Not that I have anything against the pink haired fairy that I used last time, but seriously… how can you not have a goth fairy? ;-) Duh!
