I just ordered a new motherboard and an Intel Core-Duo processor. They should (hopefully) arrive no later than Wednesday. These two items put me on the modern PC upgrade path. Finally!
Here are the parts that I ordered from NewEgg:
This is a great way to get my foot into the dual core processor arena.
More upgrade ramblings (covering much of the basics) after the jump, as I figure that most already know this but it does give me more to post than just “new parts, YAY!”.
I’ve always said that “short is cute”… I just don’t know what to say about this one.
I have to tread carefully here because she seemed like an Asian woman. By no means do I want to make any thoughtless jokes here. Just saying.. she was Asian (I think).
So anyhow, I was at the mall looking through the clothing stores for a new coat since the zipper on my existing leather coat decided to lose a tooth. I had seen a couple of nice leather trench coats online and I was kind of hoping.. not expecting, but kind of hoping… to find something similar to look at in person.
Unfortunately I found nothing, and I was walking out of the last store toward the doors when poof, I see the most littlest iddiest biddiest person I’ve ever seen, working at one of the other businesses..
I just noticed that Text Link Ads has added a couple of new links on my main Shadows In Motion site. One that caught my eye and strikes me as “cute” is the Jehova’s Witness’ link.
Now mind you, I’m not bothered by it. I’m just floored by it. Both because my most recent post on SIM is talking about Aine and my personal view of “worship”, and because I have several family members who are JW’s.
I’ll have to throw the website to said family members and have them confirm or deny its legitimacy. Either way, the link is deeply ironic. I certainly got a kick out of it this morning.
Now I need to stop procrastinating and get ready for the day.

I was reading a digg.com thread earlier and a few of us went off-topic and commented on immigration. This is actually something that’s been rolling through my skull for the last several days, so this is as good an opportunity as any to post my thoughts to my blog.
I’ve been mulling over this subject because some (obviously illegal) immigrants have moved next door to us. This topic is nigh impossible for me to ignore as a result.
Anyway, what follows are my thoughts re-posted from digg:
My previous post has me thinking. EMail services really need to make real filters, not this weak stuff that we have now.
I want to be able to sort messages by the name of and/or the type of file that’s attached.
I want to be able to set up a filter that says, “If there is no text in the body, and there are two attachments, and the attachments are called such-and-such, then do THIS with the email”.
It can’t be a hard thing to do, so why do we still have weak, limited filtering capabilities? Shame on all of you, email services!
It’s far more frustrating than it needs to be to sort my mail.
That is all.
