Lately after exercising I’ve been having some smoothies. These are definitely the way to relax after a good work out. They taste great, and they’re some of the healthiest things that you’re going to eat.
I get some frozen berries; commonly strawberries, blueberries, and raspberries. I toss in some vanilla yogurt, ice, and soy milk, and I will sometimes put my double chocolate flavored whey protein into the mix as well. I blend that up and there you go. Tasty-as-can-be healthy post work out food.
One thing that I have to admit though is that the whey protein definitely changes the taste of the smoothie. It tastes better without it, but I can’t say that it tastes bad with it added either.
Tonight I also added one of my Mega Men’s dietary supplements to the smoothie. This was a mistake. The idea was that the vitamin would be ground into itty bitty bits and wouldn’t significantly change the taste of the smoothie. I was wrong. Do not do this. The after taste is not what I could call a pleasant thing.
I finished it (two cups actually!), but I won’t be doing it again lol.
Ah, it’s great being healthy. Now if only I hadn’t missed the first 30 minutes of the Stargate Atlantis season premier…

Wow! I used to have an account with this bank. Netbank has been shut down by the feds due to too many defaulting loans.
What’s kind of disturbing to me is that Netbank appears to be owned by ING, and I have a savings account with ING. This makes me question ever using that savings account for anything serious. Then again, I don’t know the technical ins-and-outs of the banking system so perhaps this is a non-issue.
Whatever the case, this definitely raised my eyebrows. Netbank was pretty darn good back in the day and I wouldn’t have ever expected them to go under.

Yesterday in Korean class we watched one of the instructor’s movies called My Sassy Girl. It was a great movie, and I just found out (via IMDB) that it was based on a real experience. That’s so cool!
My Sassy Girl @ IMDB.
The movie is a very funny, very romantic, occasionally sad flick. I’m definitely glad that we had the opportunity to watch it, and it was my first Korean movie. So, very good first impression!
If you’re interested in foreign films then you should definitely look into this one. It’s old, being released in 2001 I think, but it’s still well worth watching.
Here’s the movie’s trailer with English subtitles:
Enjoy!

After last night’s database problems, and the database problems that my blogs have been experienced in the not-too-distant past, I’m looking more seriously at other hosts. Currently I’m eying Bluehost because they seem to be a few dollars cheaper with similar or better options.
They also appear to have a good reputation.
Thing is, I’m also toying with the idea of going to blogger. Do any of you know how to migrate a Wordpress blog to Blogger?
Later,
~Steph
My host’s database server went out last night and caused all three of my most frequently updated blogs to go out.
I apologize for the issue as well as the strange message in the RSS feed if you folks saw that too.
When I woke up this morning they had responded to my message and I was then able to use the SQL options of my website control panel to “Fix” the database. This restored normal access to the websites.
Later all,

“Everyone likes to say Hitler did this and Hitler did that. But the truth is Hitler did very little. He was a world class asshole, but the evil actually done, from the death camps to World War Two, was all done by citizens who were afraid to question if what they were told by their government was the truth or not, and who because they did not want to admit to themselves that they were afraid to question the government, refused to see the truth behind the Reichstag Fire, refused to see the invasion by Poland was a staged fake, and followed Hitler into national disaster.”

Hello folks!
I have to admit, today was a pretty good day. This morning I still wasn’t entirely certain if I wanted to go, but I got cleaned up and went anyway. I’m glad that I did.
First, the food was great. The folks who done the cooking all done a good job. It was the first time that I had Korean food, and it was a good first impression!
The kimchi was a surprise in that, in American terms, one can almost think of it as a salad with very spicy dressing. It’s good stuff.
However, I would have to say that I liked the kimchi pancake (”김치전”?) a bit more, but only because the spicy food was giving me the sniffles!
The bulgogi (”불고기”?) was the dish that everyone in the states would be most familiar with. A very simple way to describe it would be BBQ beef with a sweet sauce. Seriously yum, it’s the one that I liked the most from a familiarity point of view.
The rice was rice. There’s not much to say about it other than that, but it was decent and served its purpose.
Unfortunately those are the only foods that I had. It’s my own fault. They had others, but I hadn’t eaten breakfast so I had way too much on my plate. After eating all of that I had no room for their other dishes.
Aside from the food I also enjoyed a nice conversation with a classmate that lasted for about an hour (or so?). We snapped some pics (not shared here due to privacy concerns), which was fun, and got to know each other a bit more, and after that I walked over to the movie.
They showed Joint Security Area, which turned out to be darn good movie with a very tragic ending. It’s the type of film that takes the viewer through multiple twists, showing parts of the story’s time-line at different moments through out the movie.
It turned out to be a very good day, and to think that I came so close to missing all of that.
Of course, I also got in my 3 to 5 mile walk this evening, but that’s unrelated to everything else.
Good night, all!

안녕하세요!
The typing issue that I’ve had in the past may be resolved. As expected, the cause of the problem/s turned out be fairly simple. It comes down to character encoding, the email application that I use, and a simple lack of understanding of the language.
The email application that I use, Mozilla’s Thunderbird, does not seem to be friendly to Asian languages. Or if it is then you have to do some annoying technical nonsense to make it work, and I simply don’t have the patience to do that these days.
Thunderbird would always prompt me when sending the email, asking if I wanted to send the email in UTF-8 or to send it in the existing encoding. Regardless of the option that I chose the Korean language would appear as odd, seemingly random symbols to the person reading the message.

09/17/07’s fitness data:
This is my routine for every day of the week except for Tuesday & Thursday. Sit ups, push ups, and some stretches may be left out simply because I forget to do them.
Tonight I walk/jogged around the usual field, walk/jogged around the Weede itself, and then noticed that the track was open on the inside so I finished my laps in there. In completely unrelated news I noticed that I’m really needing some new running shoes, but I digress..
Tuesday & Thursday I have karate class, and that (generally) burns more calories than walking (according to what I’ve read online, so whatever). Tuesdays & Thursdays will still have roughly 70 to 80 minutes of walking as that’s required to get to & from each of my classes.
My car’s windshield getting smashed sure was a good incentive to get some extra walking in.
Just think of the gas money that I’m saving!
