As mentioned in the previous post, I decided to head out this morning for a nice jog under the night time sky. It was a just a short jog up the street, around the park, and back to the house. Something’s better than nothing though I suppose.
I’ve mentioned previously that crime seems to be on the rise in my town, even if it’s just “minor” crimes, so I was a touch… just a touch… uncomfortable jogging on dark streets. I was going to go around the park a couple of times but I had that uneasy “maybe that’s not such a good idea” feeling, and so I began my short trip back home.
Summer vacation has brought out the night owl in me and I’ve missed several days of exercising because of it. Thankfully I’ve been making an effort to return to a “normal” sleeping schedule, but an over night schedule is actually my natural circadian rhythm.
What a pain, but, no more excuses right? That’s what this is about. I can’t make it to the gym while on this schedule, but I can still make it out for a jog. Kicking myself in the rear, here…
In more positive news, I toyed with some of those calorie calculators tonight and discovered that my jogs were probably burning off the 500 calories that is required to lose weight. Assuming that it’s done every day, that is. So while slacking off for a few days does hurt, it shouldn’t have set me back too far.
A nice jog under the moon light. That doesn’t sound bad at all.

If you listen to music from the 80’s then you know the band The Police. In fact, even if you’re not familiar with the band you’re probably still familiar with their music. Have you heard the song “Every Breath She Takes”? Yep! That’s by The Police…
…and they have a new CD and world tour! This is freaking awesome.
One of my fave 80’s bands are back. ^_^ They have a great, unique sound that’s just as good today as it was back then. Man, it’s going to be great to hear them again.
Songs like “Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic”, “Spirits of The Material World”, and “King of Pain” aren’t just music, they’re memories. They’re the tunes that I listened to in my teens while riding around in the Camaro with a pal and just enjoying the sunlight and the wind…
…hanging out at his place, riding around in the Camaro, laughing and just being stupid kids. They were great times, with great music to match.
This is what happens when you try to game on Windows Vista when you have an NVidia card. My system has the latest drivers installed as of this post’s date.

What a headache… my next card is going to be an ATi, I don’t care if they fix this issue before I buy another card. I’m fed up with it. >.<
My DxDiag.txt for those who are interested.
EDIT: A little more info. What happens is the game freezes up, the screen goes all black and the system remains in this state for a minute or two. Sometimes the game will completely crash, other times it will resume. Either way it’s a huge pain in the arse.

In the day-to-day world you can’t simply tell a banker that you want $2,000 and then have the money a few days later. Most of us can’t do that, anyway. They want your paper work, they scrutinize your credit score; it’s a big headache and then you may not get the money despite it all.
As a student that’s not the case. I can sit down and say, “I need $2,000″ and they hand me loan papers to sign. I sign them, they take them, and a week later I can have the money in my account. There is a brief counseling session before the first loan, but after that the process takes only a few minutes. It’s very easy and accessible, which is both good and bad.

Published: 27 May 2007A new health scare erupted over soft drinks last night amid evidence they may cause serious cell damage. Research from a British university suggests a common preservative found in drinks such as Fanta and Pepsi Max has the ability to switch off vital parts of DNA.
The problem – more usually associated with ageing and alcohol abuse – can eventually lead to cirrhosis of the liver and degenerative diseases such as Parkinson’s.

Wow. Just freaking wow…
This makes me very glad that I stopped drinking soda back in Jan. of 2006.

This evening I made it to campus and discovered that the gym was locked tight. I really need to memorize that place’s schedule, but on the other hand it does give me an excuse to jog/walk for a couple of miles.
Unfortunately this evening’s jog was soured by pain in my left knee. It was bad enough that I walked a good 98-99% of the way back home, because each time that I began to jog the knee pain would flare up. Yikes. :-/ This is not a good turn of events.
I just don’t have the time and money to dick with going to the doctor’s, so I hope that this passes. It’s hurt before, but not enough to prevent me from jogging or such. So.. *fingers crossed*..
Blah!
Anyway, I didn’t have much “oomph” tonight so I didn’t jog nearly as much of the distance to the gym as I did on the previous evening. I’ll blame this on my recent sojourn into EQ EQ2 and missing a day of exercise due to rain.
On returning home I done some leg / groin stretches, some push ups since the gym was closed, and hit the shower. All in all this evening’s work out sucked, but it was better than doing nothing at all.
Later folks!

Occasionally there are opportunities posted that you have to jump on, and this is one of them. Farming is hard work, and we all know how little they get in return for feeding all of us… as in everyone on the planet. So it’s a pleasure for me to share this video with all of you:
I can’t help but think of ‘ol Grandpa Baker. He was a kind old farmer that I knew as a little kid. He would let us ride his horses and would gladly send us home with free baskets of fresh corn.
Well anyway, that’s another story entirely.
The most recent free update to EQ2 added the dark elf city of Neriak to the game. In addition to the city they’ve added a not-so-new race, the evil faye. This just means that a player can now start a faye character and make them evil from the get go, and they also have the benefit of starting in the Neriak area.
All of this means that I had to resub for a month to see the new sights… of course!
I just had the sudden, unexpected urge to watch a movie. Huh. Must be because I’m a touch more relaxed than normal.
At any rate, tonight’s work out began at 6:00 PM when I went for a short walk with my mother. We were out for maybe 20 minutes before I returned to the house with her, refilled my water bottle, and and began my jog to campus.
When I arrived on campus I didn’t know if the weight room would be opened or not (considering my previous luck) and in fact I did find the main doors to be locked. Luckily the side doors were open and sure enough, the weight room was waiting for me. Woot!
